Thousands of UNAM applicants began taking the Control Exam this Wednesday, August 12, an extraordinary assessment that arose following irregularities detected (use of Artificial Intelligence) in the undergraduate admission process.
But for this reason, the 'Máxima Casa de Estudios' decided to conduct the exam in person, rather than online, in order to guarantee the security of the results obtained by the applicants.
¿Qué objetos están prohibidos en el Examen de Control de la UNAM?
The list of things you should not bring includes:
- Teléfonos celulares (no se podrá usar)
- Mochilas (no se permitirá el acceso)
- Bolsas (no se permitirá el acceso)
- Bultos grandes (no se permitirá el acceso).
The recommendation is to arrive at the venue without these items, as the restrictions are part of the conditions established for the administration of the test.
¿Qué sí puedo llevar al Examen de Control de la UNAM?
UNAM indicated that applicants must show up with two essential items:
- Identificación oficial vigente con fotografía
- Comprobante de cita impreso.
In addition, the General Directorate of School Administration (DGAE) asked applicants to arrive one hour before the time indicated on their appointment to complete the entry registration.

¿Cuándo se aplica el Examen de Control de la UNAM 2026?
The In-Person Control Exam is being administered from August 12 to 19. UNAM distributed more than 58,000 applicants across four venues: León, Oaxaca, Tijuana, and Mexico City.
The schedule is as follows:
-León, Guanajuato: August 12 and 13
-Oaxaca, Oaxaca: August 13
-Tijuana, Baja California: August 15 and 16
-Mexico City: August 17, 18, and 19.
In Mexico City, the exam will be held at the Palacio de los Deportes, while the other locations correspond to facilities previously determined by the University.

The exam consists of 120 questions, and applicants have a maximum of three hours to answer them.
